Autumn Harvest at Pippins
There’s a definite chill in the air now, and the hot, dry summer already feels like a distant memory. The orchard has been especially generous this year, with branches bowing under the weight of apples and plums. We’ve had far more than we could ever use ourselves, so for the first time we tucked a few crisp apples into our guests’ welcome baskets alongside the eggs. We even had some surplus fresh vegetables from the garden, like tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, melons and onions which we could offer to guests - this is an unusual occurrence but hoping we can offer this again next year.
It’s been the best harvest we’ve ever had, and as the leaves begin to turn, the garden feels full of quiet colour and life. There’s something so lovely about this time of year and we’ve loved seeing guests enjoy a little taste of it too!
